On Sunday 24th September, top athletes will be competing to become British Champions, at this year’s iconic Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half Marathon, in Nottingham. Elite runners will once again rival one another for the prestigious title.

Why don’t you come and join them in the event - in its 37th year – it has always been renowned for providing one of the most picturesque runs in the country, and in 2017, competitors will once again be inspired by many of this historic city's most iconic sights.

Starting on the banks of the River Trent next to the imposing spectacle of Trent Bridge the route will take you past the famous Robin Hood statue and Nottingham Castle, before twisting through the leafy private residential area of the Castle grounds. From there runners can enjoy the breath-taking and scenic views of Wollaton Park with its herds of grazing deer and the imposing Wollaton Hall.

Nottingham University’s Jubilee Campus with its unusual buildings will take you by surprise and not forgetting the idyllic finish line riverside setting of Victoria Embankment which attracts hundreds of spectators and supporters and is the perfect day out for locals and visitors alike.

This year's route in full can be downloaded from the event website at http://www.robinhoodhalfmarathon.co.uk

In 2017, the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half Marathon headline charity partner is Cancer Research UK and donations will help fund continued research into a cure for this devastating disease. A host of local charities will also benefit from the efforts of hundreds of seasoned club runners and amateur athletes taking part on their behalf. This year's local charity partners include the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre at Nottingham University, the Children's Brain Tumour Trust and Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

Registration for the half-marathon is £34.95/£29.95 for AAA runners and Wheelchair Half Marathon concessions are £10.
