Dalkeith Country Park is offering it's splendid grounds for an amazing trail race experience all in support of Midlothian Young People's Advice Service. Sunday 13th May 2018 will offer something for everyone, whether you're an experienced club runner or a total beginner. The beautiful 5k route is mostly flat and very scenic taking in meadows, forest tracks and the amazing bluebell grove along the river Esk near the finish. 5k participants will only have to deal with one small hill to get back up onto Montague Bridge about 100 metres from the finish. The 5k is ideal for beginners, mixed abilities and more seasoned runners wanting a faster trail race.  The 10k is recommended for more experienced runners with a decent level of fitness wanting to negotiate an additional section with somewhat more tricky trails and a few more hills. We recommend proper trail shoes for those wanting to give the 10k a go!  Finally and not least, the day will begin with a separate under 13 1k trail fun run an hour before the main event and adults are welcome to accompany the little ones in what might be the first ever trail race for many children! So definitely something for everyone! Afterwards, unwind in the newly refurbished Restoration Yard cafe to refuel with coffee and cake or take the children to the new Fort Douglas Adventure Park.
