Like running? Like good tunes? Like eating cake?

If you said yes to any of these, then the good news is the ERN LP RUN is back at 11am on Sunday 25th August 2019!  After a year off, we're delighted to have the support of Enjoy Leisure and East Lothian Council for our NEW VENUE at Meadowmill Sports Centre.

The run is based on the oldest race in Houston, Texas, which has been going for over 50 years.  For the ipod generation here is a short explanation.  On the crack of the starting pistol you run as many Revolutions Per Minute (laps) of the track as you can during 33 and a third minutes, all the while listening to top tunes. Entrants are responsible for counting their own laps but bands will be given out for each lap completed and there will be independent verification of the front runners and prizes for the top finishers, as well as spot prizes, so come along and enjoy the experience of running on a track, no matter how fast or slow you are!.

When you enter you can choose a tune you'd like to hear as you're running. The theme for this year's music is Europeyes, we're putting the fun back in to Brexit, whether you wanted a break-up or a love-in, or if you're just thinking "Mamma Mia, here we go again!" pick a tune that has some connection to Europe, and we will of course be ending with the Final Countdown!

There will also be a 7" kids' race (one lap of the track) starting at 10.45am, so the whole family can get involved and, as our club likes to say "ERN your cake"!

After the race is done and dusted, arguably the best bit - tea, coffee and cake!  Edinburgh Running Network members love their cake, and we have a lot of great bakers, so join in and bring along a cake - there will be a prize for the best cake, but all cakes and traybakes will be welcome, it doesn't have to be perfect, just tasty!

The event is in aid of Streetfit Scotland, a charity close to our hearts providing a health, fitness and well-being programme for the homeless and socially disadvantaged to reduce social isolation and improve mental and physical health (charity no. SCO 046638 http://www.streetfitscotland.org/).
